Foodie News x Restaurant Reviews x Hip-Hop Attitude

In 2010, I (Nick Love) spent over 45% of my annual income eating out at some of Atlanta's best (and worst) restaurants. So, who better to guide you through the city's crowded dining terrain?? Now, I, along with my team of Hip-Hop generation foodies, will expose and review ATL's newest hits, hidden gems, and old favorites. Hopefully, this blog will earn us a free meal or two while we point you guys in the direction of some good food and steer you away from the wackness. Let's eat!!!

Taste of Smyrna (Sept 17, 2011)

I found something else to put on our eating calendar.  TOMORROW, the city of Smyrna is doing their own Taste festival and it sounds pretty darn good actually.  They're billing it as the "Festival of Delectable".  It's going down from 11am til 8pm at the Village Green in downtown Smyrna.  Who knew Smyrna had a downtown??  Lol.

Admission is FREE and samples can be purchased from $1-4.  They're expecting over 30 restaurants including Marlow's Tavern (their Sunday brunch is INCREDIBLE!!!), Pasta Bella, Williamson Bros BBQ, and a few more familiar names like Chick Fil A and Brusters.  In addition to that, one of the biggest attractions to this year's Taste of Smyrna is a place called Kenny's Great Pies.  Apparently, they have a SEVEN FOOT authentic Key Lime Pie.  I've never actually seen a seven foot pie but it may be worth the trip just to snap a pic or two.

As with most of these types of events, there will be music and entertainment for the family so bring the kiddies and let them get some sun.  They can eat and run around for a few hours and hopefully get sleepy enough for mom and/or dad to return on Saturday night for a full course at one of the restaurants.

Happy Eating!!!
