Yesterday, this article ran on AJC.com and I just had to re post it here. It's more of a national story but I felt like it definitely applied to ATL since the south LEADS the country in obesity with Atlanta being one of the fatter cities in the US. Apparently, with all the initiatives by the government, restaurants posting the calorie amounts on their menus, gyms popping up everywhere, celebrity diet plans being overly popular, and at a time when health seems (to me at least) like it's all the rave, Americans are still eating pretty bad.
First, let me say that I'm not shocked. But, it is a little disappointing. I often joke to my friends about all of these extra large portions at fast food restaurants. I really clown the fact that people order the Triple Stack from Wendy's or the Double Down at KFC. My question is always, "Who eats this stuff??" Well, according to the studies in this article, most of ya'll do. Smh.
